Pinnacle People has been recognised by
Jobcentre Plus with the Youth Employment Award at its 2010 Employer
Awards ceremony in London.
Future Jobs Fund Project Manager, Lee Trappitt, explains how we
have attracted young people to work with Pinnacle:
"Our approach centres on giving young people responsibility for
defined tasks and services in order to ensure a sense of ownership
and achievement. Each young person's work is supervised and
they are developed and coached in their role by their line manager.
They also have access to a mentor who is on hand to advise on
matters which may be impacting on them and their work."
The success of our work can be seen in our ability to fill all
available positions from young (aged 18-24) unemployed people
following assessment days held jointly with Jobcentre Plus; high
levels of on the job retention (95% at 13 weeks) and engagement
with work-based learning programmes leading to recognised NVQ
qualifications.
One young person who has been employeed by Pinnacle is Nabella
Khan from Newham who is employed in Pinnacle's Canning Town Contact
Centre.
Nabella explains what this opportunity means to her
"I had been trying to get back into work for such a long time
that I just felt like giving up and lost confidence in trying,
since Pinnacle had been introduced to me I have come along way and
feel that it's given me a chance to really show my potential. I
have only been working at the Contact Centre for just over two
months and feel that I have come along way. I'm very happy and feel
that I can get the experience that I need and achieve even better
things in the future."
