Clean sweep in Solihull
Pinnacle PSG has recently been awarded the contract to keep
Solihull Community Housing estates and offices spick and span as
well as clearing and cleaning empty properties to ensure they are
re-let as quickly as possible.
Solihull Community Housing is the Arms Length Management
Organisation (ALMO) set up in April 2004 to run the housing service
on behalf of Solihull Council and manages around 10,500 homes in
the Midlands on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough
Council. The new contract is three contracts in one,
involving external estate cleaning right across Solihull, clearing
around 20 to 30 empty properties a week and cleaning the housing
organisation's 10 offices.
Pinnacle PSG now employs 87 staff on the contract, 85 of whom
were transferred from the former contractor, 'Connaught
Environmental', after Pinnacle was awarded the contract earlier
this year.
Two months into the contract, Neil Osborne from Solihull
Community Housing's void management team has already been impressed
with Pinnacle PSG's efforts and approach. "We have really been
impressed with the way Pinnacle PSG has gone about making this
contract work in such a short period of time.
"They hit the ground running and set a high standard that our
residents are already beginning to recognise", added Neil.
The contract will run until 2013 plus a possible two year
extension and is worth in the region of £900,000 per annum.
"Not only was winning this contract good news for Pinnacle PSG,
it also meant that we were able to protect most of the existing
jobs that were being done by local people", said Shaun Wootton,
Midlands Contract Manager for Pinnacle PSG.
